It's fun! We choose music together that works best for the individuals who volunteer to serve as a choir. We arrange the music so that the Choir sounds its best!

The Music Director and Pastor choose hymns that weave into the message of each Sunday Service, and often the Choir adds uplifting energy to the hymns that all the congregation sings, by leading the hymn in unison or with harmonies.

We will prepare for the first Choir Sunday on September 11th. We usually arrive at 9:30 to rehearse for the 10:30 service on Choir Sundays.

In joyful song,
Mary Collins, Music Director

How to get involved in Music at UUFC

The UUFC Choir, created in 2004 by our Music Director, Mary Collins, performs twice a month, singing hymns and choir anthems. These volunteers specialize in four part acapella performance, but sing solos, duets and often act as song leaders for new hymns and songs to introduce new music to the congregation. We sing gospel, pop and folk music as it integrates well with the topic of the Service.

Guitarists, members and friends of the congregation, also offer variety and spice throughout the year with original compositions, folk, pop, as well as hymns from our Singing the Journey hymnal, which is filled with a variety of more contemporary music.

Guest musicians of any age are scheduled once a month. Soloists and ensembles perform classical, ragtime, blues, folk, pop, and, occasionally, rap music throughout the year. A Guest musician performs 1-2 pieces in a Sunday Service.

If you want to offer your special music as a Guest Musician or would enjoy singing with the UUFC choir, contact Mary Collins, Music Director, 530-570-8826, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
