Sunday Morning Programs & Worship Services

10:30 am - Worship Service in the Sanctuary varies.  Some Sundays there is a UU Minister or Student Minister, who will deliver a sermon.  Other Sundays, there may be a person from the community, a professor from CSU Chico, a visiting musician or a member of the congregation presenting a program.  Once a month, the choir will sing during the service and once a month there is a Potluck lunch following the service.  There is some "ritual" involved, with a predictable Order of Service, which includes some hymn singing and some sharing from the congregation.  The worship service lasts about 1¼ - 1½ hrs.  Visitors are expected and warmly welcomed.  Arriving well ahead of 10:30 is advised.

“Universalism Says it All” Speaker: Rev. Paul Sawyer

A few years ago, an article appeared in the UU World that gave an overview of the many diverse perspectives in our Unitarian Universalist movement. It sketched out the manifold groups of differing emphases - from UU Buddhists, UU Christians, Jewish UUs, Humanist UUs, UU Pagans - and now the UU Greens, and soon the UU Purples and Reds. These various groupings and typologies all set me to thinking that our valuable emphasis on freedom of belief, as well as our lack of knowledge of our Unitarian Universalist heritage and history had brought about an out-ofbalanced, uncenteredness to our faith. It also occurred to me that we needed a larger understanding of contemporary Unitarian Universalism - In fact the conception that Universalism Says it All. Come see this Sunday how this may be so.
