Our Ministers:

The Revs. Sydney Wilde and Dennis Daniel are a married couple who have worked as co-ministers since 1992. Both native Californians, they have returned to the Golden State after decades of serving churches in the East.  Before marrying Dennis, Sydney graduated from Starr King School for the Ministry and was ordained in 1980; she served as Associate Minister to Cedar Lane Church in Bethesda, Maryland and as Senior Minister to Davies Memorial Church in Camp Springs, Maryland. She then moved to Caribou, Maine, to be near her new husband.

Dennis attended the School of Theology at Claremont. He was ordained in 1988 and served a three-point charge in northern Maine and New Brunswick.

In 1992 they were called to Central Unitarian Church in Paramus, New Jersey, where they served for six years.  Then followed a year as interim ministers in Chicago and a year as interims in Sacramento.  In 2000 they were called to Reston, Virginia and stayed there for nine years. 

They see themselves as institutionalists, helping congregations develop spiritual depth, and responsible outreach to the surrounding community.

They are serving the Chico congregation as half-time consulting ministers.
