For Ages 4 - 8 The Web of Life Respect for the interdependent web of all existence is one of our Unitarian Universalist principles. It has religious significance far beyond mere “nature study”. It is, for instance, the core of most Native American religions. Our younger religious education program this year on “Experiences with the Web of Life” introduces children to this web through direct experiences with specific living things, along with exploration of their connection with the rest of existence. Our Religious Education Program using the “Web of Life” curriculum will begin on Sunday, September 13 and continue throughout this church year fro, 10:30 a.m. - noon. Every week the children will spend time outside, even if it rains. Please have your children dress for outdoor exploration. For Jr & Sr High School Open Minds Dr.Kate McCarthy, CSUChico. is teaching the Open Minds Program, an exploration of the world's religious and philosophical wisdom traditions. This is a non-sectarian-based program and open to youth of all religious traditions. Open Minds is offered on two Sundays a month from 10:30 a.m. - noon. Dates for 2009 & 2010 are 11/1 & 8, 12/6 & 13, 1/31, 2/7 & 28, 3/7 & 28, 4/11 & 18, 5/2 & 9.
To supplement the Open Minds Program, UU Youth are working on a Unitarian-focused media presentation during the remaining Sundays at the same time.
