Unitarian Universalists in Chico are committed to providing first class Religious Education programming for our children. Classes are held during the regular "Church Year" beginning in September, and continuing through May, during the Sunday morning Worship Service, 10:30 am.. Age appropriate programming is offered, including nursery care for the little ones.
Unitarian Universalists do not teach a specific creed or set of hard and fast rules to live by, but rather, we teach our children about other religions, and about our Seven UU Principles. Our goal is that our children will grow to appreciate the diversity of this beautiful world and will respect and cherish all people, all creatures and the natural environment with which we are blessed and entrusted to protect. Children also learn about their Unitarian Universalist faith, it's history, it's heroes, and it's mission. We want our children to experience the "Beloved Community" of which they are so vital a part and we hope that each will grow to find his or her own sense of the spirit of love within and without. We invite and welcome all children to participate. If you want to explore our church and our program, a "trial" visit is highly recommended. Please arrive early -- well before 10:30 -- so that we can properly welcome you and orient you and your child to the classrooms and to the campus. Children should dress as for school. Your child is welcome to stay with you in the Adult Worship Service in our Sanctuary if you so desire. There is child care by an experienced mother and her teenage daughter available for infants through pre-schoolers.. |
