Adult Religious Exploration - began as an endeavor to provide a forum within a safe environment for the intimate sharing of religious, moral, and spiritual issues.
In 2007, the group studied the text, Celebration of Discipline by Richard J. Foster.
September 16, 2007: First meeting: In addition to discussing plans for the upcoming year, there will be a discussion on "Highlights of Your Summer Spiritual Journey - Its Epiphanies and its Disappointments". All members and friends are encouraged to join with us for this first gathering of the new year. 9:00 in Social/Fellowship Hall. Visitors welcome.
October 7, 2007: we begin the study of the book recommended to us by Rabbi Yitzhak Nates, Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth by Richard J. Foster. Although the material espouses a Christian perspective, (the author is a Quaker), the underlying message is one of spiritual growth through the practice of twelve spiritual disciplines. We will study one of these disciplines each Sunday, except holidays, October 7 through January 21 . Outlines of the material will be available for those lacking a copy of the book. The group meets in the Social/Fellowship Hall for one hour. Visitors are always welcome.
Adult Religious Exploration (ARE) will resume at a later date.
